Dec 5 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B
We hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, usually in Forest Park, then lunch at a nearby cafe. If you would like to know the distance or difficulty of the hike, call the leader.

Dec 9 (Sun) Hamburger Hike - Class A
This fun, little hike follows the Gorge 400 Trail from Eagle Creek to Cascade
Locks for lunch (bring your own or purchase something) at the Char Burger.
Return to cars by the same trail. Hope for sun. But prepare for something
else. Vehicles will need to display a NW Forest Pass. Hike 5.2 miles with
700 feet of cumulative elevation gain. Drive 53 miles round trip.
Depart: 10:00 AM from Lewis & Clark State Park (I-84, exit 18)

Dec 9 (Sun) Pacific Crest Trail Snowshoe – Class A
Beginning level snowshoe. Leave Barlow Pass Snow Park and follow the PCT for 1 ½ hours or so, eat lunch, then return. Distance traveled and elevation gain will be determined
by snow conditions and group comfort. Fit showshoes to boots before the trip so you know the bindings work. Check our COLD WEATHER GUIDELINE FOR TRIPS on
The Official Oregon Trails Club Website Cars will need a Sno-park permit. We will cancel if there is not enough snow. Call leader with
questions.

Dec 14 (Fri) Lower Salmon River Hike – Class A
An easy, slow poky, beautiful trail along the river. Hike 5 miles round trip with 100 feet elevation gain. Drive about 85 miles round trip. Drivers need a trailhead parking permit.

Dec 15 (Sat) Mt Hood Snowshoe - Class B
Dust off those snowshoes and join me on our first trip of the season. Maybe a four to five hour snowshoe, distance depending on conditions. Location to be determined later
as conditions allow. Call or e-mail me after the 12th for more details. No cotton clothes allowed. Cars will need a Sno-park permit.

Dec 17 (Mon) Christmas Ships Walk—Class A
On this night, the Christmas ships cruise down the Willamette
from River Place Marina to Lake Oswego. We’ll
walk north along the river to meet them. Total hiking will
be about 2.5 miles. We’ll start at Willamette Park--enter off
SR 43 (Macadam Ave.) at SW Nebraska Ave, a mile north
of the Sellwood Bridge. Once in the park, turn left and park
in the lot on your right at the far north end of the park (if
this lot is full, there are other lots farther south in the park).
If you’re interested in pre-hike food or drink, meet at Fulton
Pub starting at 5.30 pm (not an official part of the event).
Pub is at 0618 SW Nebraska St. which, enters Willamette
Park,. The pub is just west of SW Macadam Ave. You can
park on the street near the pub and then walk down to
meet the hikers. I may cancel if it is pouring rain. If the
weather is doubtful, call my cell to see if the hike is on.
Meet at 6:45 pm for a 7:00 pm departure from the far north
parking lot in Willamette Park (parking is free at 5 pm)

Dec 22 (Sat) Sandy River Delta Hike, Dog Friendly - Class A
Take a break from the pre-holiday rush. Hike approximately 5-6 miles along the Sandy River to meet the Colombia River, then along the Colombia to the bird blind. Well behaved dogs
allowed on this hike. If the group so chooses, finish in a coffee shop in Troutdale or Edgefield McMenamins.

The Campbell / Larson family will be opening the lodge for a few days before Christmas to enjoy

Dec 27 (Thurs) Kid Friendly Clackamas Area Hike – Class A
For kids of all ages! Treats along the way! Hot apple cider afterward! Hike a real forest trail here in town! It’s just a short drive to Mt Talbert Nature Park for our hike! Bring all
the kids, or just yourself, and a sense of adventure! Also bring sturdy shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather. Children must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. The
hiking distance and time will be determined by the comfort of the group.

Dec 28 (Fri) Teacup Lake Cross Country Ski - Class A/B
We’ll ski approximately 5.5 miles on the outer loop at the Teacup Lake Nordic Club’s ski area. Mostly level (some short up and down sections) route with great views of Mount Hood’s east
side. The plan will be to do the outer loop, stop for lunch, and then possibly do another short loop. Leader will tend to lead a slower, casual pace. Donations to the Nordic Club are
$10.00 (suggested for use of area). Contact leader for meeting time and place before Thursday December 27 at 8:00PM.

Dec 29-Jan 1 (Sat-Tues) New Year’s at Tyee
Join us for a New Year’s celebration at Tyee Lodge. The family friendly
weekend includes Movie Nights (Sat-Sun) and Game Night on New Year’s Eve
(Mon). We will be snowshoeing to enjoy the fireworks at midnight! Paul and
Callista Snively will be your hosts with Mya White as your cook. For dinners,
we are having Salads with Homemade Lasagna (Sat), Baked Ham (Sun) and a Turkey
Feast on New Year’s Eve. Breakfast will be included. Hot Homemade Soup and
Sandwiches for $5 or bring your own lunches. Bring snacks for New Year’s
Eve to share. Plan on having fun in the snow, sledding, XC, snowshoeing or
relaxing in the lodge by the warm fire.
