Nov 3-5 (Fri-Sun)10th Annual Backpack Seminar - Tyee lodge

This year's speakers:
Erin Savor who has spent the last year touring the world on backpacks. She is a very informative speaker and entertaining.
Whitney LaRuffa who is the NW Long Distance Hiking Association President. He finished the CDT last year. He has completed the AT and will start the PCT in the next year or two.
Kate Hoch has contacted me and may speak. I am also in touch with a couple other possible speakers.
Ron Moak will display his light weight tents, backpacks and umbrellas. He will set them up for anyone who would like to try them out for the night.
We will open the lodge on Friday at noon. Our cooks for the weekend are Karen and Roger Anderson.

The cost for the weekend is $60 which includes Program, lodging, and lunch Saturday thru lunch Sunday. If you spend Friday night add on an extra $15 if a member and $25 if a non-member for friday night lodging.

We will be having the seminar at Tyee this year since we have experienced a tragic fire at Nesika. There will be tent sites and bunks. The dorms hold around 40. When you register let me know when you are coming and if you are tent camping or dorm sleeping.
Parking will be determined by snow level. If there has been little or no snow, some cars can park at the lodge (access via West Leg Road). All extra cars will be parked at maintenance area at base of Timberline road. Snow park permits will be required for those not parked at the lodge . We also have a parking lot (sno-park) on the right about a 1/4 mile up Timberline Road. I will have someone to meet and greet new comers there as needed at 9:00 Saturday.

To register: Register through Meetup at https://www.meetup.com/Trails-Club-of-Oregon/events/243263937/. You must pay (via Pay Pal) when you register to hold your spot. Cost will be $60.00.
