Events

Week-1

July 3 (Tue) Molalla River Bike - Class B

This level B ride starts at Feyrer Park in Molalla. The ride is 36.3 miles RT from the Park out along the Molalla River. The terrain is peaceful and along the river most of the way. It's mostly an uphill all the way out to the bridge where we turn around and then it's a nice downhill most of the way home. There are bathrooms at multiple places along the route. Also, it's very easy to turn around and retrace your ride if you have a partner to make a shorter ride with you. Come on out and give this a try.
Depart: 10 AM sharp from parking lot at Feyrer Park. To reach Feyrer Park in Molalla, take : I-5 south to Woodburn/Molalla exit #271, at Molalla east on Main, then right on Mathias, and left on Feyrer Park Rd. 16187 S Feyrer Park Rd. $5 parking fee. This is a rather long drive so carpooling is encouraged.
Leader: Sue Brickey 971-506-0931 or sab97206@comcast.net

July 4 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park.
This weeks hike will begin at the Leif Erickson trail head on Germantown Road at approximately 9:45 AM. The parking area is 1.2 mi up from the bottom or 0.8 mi down from the top of Germantown. We will head up the Cannon trail to the Wildwood. We will hike toward Portland to the Springville road intersection then down to Leif Erickson. We will return to the parking area on Leif Erickson for a total round trip of 4.2 miles. Elevation gain will be 200 – 300 ft.
People meeting at Friendly House at 9:30 can carpool and hopefully there will be enough room for all needing rides. I will stop at Friendly House on my way but can only take one additional rider with me. It would be best if you can arrange your own way to the trail head as this being a holiday, attendance may be light and I won’t know in advance how many drivers will stop at Friendly House and their capacity for riders. Call or email leader with questions.
Leader: Richard Gaunt 971-404-1153, 898rick@gmail.com

Week-2

July 10 (Tue) Banks to Vernonia Ride — Class A/B

This is an out and back ride on a paved, gently graded (except for the steep down-and-up Nehalem highway crossing) rails-to-trails route. Distance from Banks to Vernonia is about 21 miles (42 miles round trip). Those who would like a shorter ride may meet us at mile 7, the Buxton Trailhead. This reduces the round trip distance to about 28 miles. An optional ride around the lake will add a couple of miles to the day’s total distance.

E-mail leader to register for the ride, saying whether you plan to ride the shorter or longer route. The ride may be cancelled and rescheduled in bad weather - contact leader if you are uncertain whether the ride is being cancelled.
Depart: Class B: 9:00 AM from the trailhead/parking lot in Banks.
